ANSI/TIA‑440-C “Fiber Optic Terminology” was developed by the TIA TR‑42.5 Telecommunications Infrastructure Terms and Symbols Subcommittee and published in July, 2017. 

Scope: This Standard defines commonly used terms, symbols, and abbreviations for optical fiber applications.
