ANSI/TIA-1005

The ANSI/TIA-1005-A “Telecommunications Infrastructure Standard for Industrial Premises” helps in the planning and installation of telecommunications cabling infrastructure within and between industrial buildings.

Structured cabling in an industrial environment (such as manufacturing facilities, laboratories, refineries, etc.) may be subject to more hostile environmental conditions that commercial building cabling plants. To address this, the ANSI/TIA-568-C series of wiring standards, focuses on commercial buildings, the central concept of this standard is the potential exposure to hostile environments in the industrial space.

ANSI/TIA-1005-A was developed by the TIA TR-42.9 Industrial Infrastructure Subcommittee and published in May, 2012. This Standard provides infrastructure, distance, telecommunications outlet/connector configuration, and topology requirements for cabling deployed in industrial environments.
