TIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as a "standards developing organization (SDO)." Standards projects and technical doments initiated by TIA's engineering committees are formulated according to the ANSI Essential Requirements and a number of other documents that can be viewed here on TIA's Standards Overview page.
Every new standard project begins as a technical contribution in one of the TIA's technology-oriented engineering committees or subcomittees. Many FOTC members are active in these committees and our Standards Chairs report back on the progress of standards that relate specifically to the use of optical fiber in the ICT community.
Our most recent standards update was presented as a Webinar on April 4th, 2017. Viewers can earn one BICSI Continuing Education Credit (CEC) by watching this webinar and then sending an email to email@example.com.
